March 2017 sees a celebration of all things Irish in Hong Kong and Macau, with a month-long festival of events. March is a special month for Ireland, as it includes our national holiday on March 17th in celebration of Saint Patrick, so here in Hong Kong & Macau we would like everybody to share in the festivities – wherever you’re from or whatever your connection with the Emerald Isle (another name for Ireland, given the lush green landscape). Throughout the month of March we will be showcasing and welcome you to share in the very best of Irish animation, craft, music, dance, art, sport, literature, Irish hospitality and, of course, two wonderful St Patrick’s Day Parades!
The Hong Kong and Macau Irish Festival is now in its second year and is a collaborative effort led by the Consulate General of Ireland and the Emerald Fund with the support of the Irish groups in Hong Kong & Macau.
A feature of our events is that we aim to make all of them as accessible as possible by not charging an admission fee. This is only possible due to the generosity of a small number of supporters and the ongoing support of the Consulate General of Ireland. We welcome new partners and friends – if you would like to get involved, are already planning an event you’d like us to feature here & on our social media platforms, or would like to support one of the existing Festival events, please click here or call the Consulate on (+852) 2535 0700.
